What Does the Bible Really Say About Divorce?

The topic of divorce has been debated throughout the centuries. While many sincere believers have wrestled with its implications, Scripture is not silent, and it is certainly not open to endless interpretation. When Moses wrote the Law concerning marriage and divorce, he did not preach flexible theology or moral relativism. He gave clear parameters — ones affirmed directly by Yahusha Himself.

In recent days, an anonymous blogger has weaponized these passages — not for theological clarity, but as ammunition for personal attacks. This must be addressed. Not because we are concerned with his opinions, but because truth matters — and so does protecting the integrity of Scripture from those who twist it to justify their own sin.

This blog will set the record straight — not just about false accusations, but about what the Bible really says about divorce, remarriage, and righteousness.

As this is a very serious issue, one would expect anyone forming strong public opinions—especially those harshly judging others—to first do their homework and seek to understand the origin of Messiah’s words. But once again, this blogger fails. He rushes into a topic he clearly does not understand, wielding scripture as a weapon, not a guide. In doing so, he tramples on the hearts of countless believers who have endured the deep pain and hardship of divorce. Yahusha never desired divorce, and neither did Moses. But the Torah clearly makes provision for the innocent party when adultery has occurred. That is not new—it has always been the standard in scripture. And Yahusha affirmed Moses’ Law on this issue, not the Pharisees’ twisting of it. Righteous remarriage in such cases is not only lawful, it is Biblically sound.

Having said that, imagine the reckless audacity of an anonymous blogger—hiding behind a mask of cowardice—charging headfirst into such a deeply personal and weighty topic with no real understanding, no compassion, and not a trace of humility. Instead of offering insight or truth, he barrels in like a bull in a china shop, smashing through sacred ground and blaring like a clanging cymbal in the ears of our Savior.

“If he did not teach that abominable, graceless, Christless doctrine then I would never have brought up his adulterous marriage, his beardless face, or his fat gut.” — The Blogger

Says the man who wrote this...

📖 Biblical Response: What the Word Actually Says About Divorce and Remarriage

The Bible is not ambiguous about the topic of divorce, and Yahusha (Jesus) was not creating a new law—He was clarifying Moses’ Law, reaffirming it in every instance. The context matters, and ignoring it—especially when slinging accusations—is not only irresponsible but spiritually dangerous.

Let’s examine what Scripture actually says:

1. Yahusha Affirms Moses’ Law (Matthew 5, Matthew 19, Luke 16)

Each time Yahusha addresses divorce, He begins with what the Pharisees or people had said, then corrects their twisted version of the Law.

  • Matthew 5:31-32
“It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication...”
→ Yahusha affirms Deuteronomy 24 by allowing divorce in the case of adultery.

  • Matthew 19:9
“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery…”
→ Again, the exception clause is clear. Divorce and remarriage are not adultery when caused by the other’s fornication.

  • Luke 16:18
Taken alone, this verse seems hard—until we read verse 17 first:
“It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.”
→ Yahusha reaffirms the Law of Moses, not abolishing it.

So what does the Law of Moses say about divorce? Oops! That origin of Messiah's words is negligently omitted from the questionable attack blog. Another example of malicious intent in willful defamation. Yahusha brings us Moses and the Blogger ignore the Son of Yahuah and calls himself the judge... Hmmmm...

2. The Law of Moses on Divorce and Remarriage (Deuteronomy 24:1–4)

“When a man hath taken a wife... and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement... and when she is departed... she may go and be another man's wife.”

Moses, under the inspiration of Yahuah, made clear that a woman may remarry after a lawful divorce due to “uncleanness” (i.e., adultery). Yahusha never nullified this law—He reaffirmed its moral integrity and corrected the abuse by the Pharisees, who were divorcing women for “every cause” (Matthew 19:3).

3. Righteous Judgment Does Not Include Abusive Behavior, Personal Defamation, and Public Shaming

This blogger misrepresents scripture to justify slandering others publicly, a violation of the 9th Commandment:

Exodus 20:16“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”

Even if someone were guilty (which in this case, they are not), slander and public shaming are not Biblical methods of correction. Yahusha never told anyone to mock someone's body, call them false names, or launch anonymous hit pieces.

Matthew 7:2“For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”

💔 Emotional Impact: Reckless Words That Reopen Deep Wounds

There is no pain quite like the devastation of divorce. It tears apart families, leaves children wounded, and can crush the spirit of even the strongest believer. It is not something taken lightly—not by Moses, not by Yahusha, and certainly not by those who have walked through it with broken hearts and trembling faith.

Yet this anonymous blogger—with zero pastoral care, no counseling credentials, and certainly no compassion—ruthlessly throws stones at those who have endured the unthinkable. Even Pharisees knew better to drop the rocks. Not this guy. Imagine displaying behavior worse than a Pharisee. Wow!

He calls it “adultery.”
He mocks the physically vulnerable.
He ridicules people's appearances.
He assigns lifelong condemnation to people Yahusha came to redeem and restore.

Let that sink in.

🕊 Yahusha's mission was never to pile on shame. He came to heal, to bind up the brokenhearted (Isaiah 61:1), and to say to the woman caught in adultery:
"Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." (John 8:11)

And yet this man dares to call himself a Christian while publicly shaming others for things he does not understand, misquotes, and twists out of context?

This is not just bad theology—it is emotional abuse.

It reopens the wounds of:

  • Faithful spouses abandoned or betrayed.

  • Children from broken homes, unto which this Blogger has also inserted himself illegally.

  • Individuals who have cried out to Yahuah in repentance and restoration.

And he tramples on them as if they were not real people with real pain, including direct contact bullying Tim's children and Anna's child with reckless abandon.

This kind of rhetoric destroys hope for those seeking healing.

❤️ Clarifying Tim and Anna’s Story: The Truth Behind the Accusation

When an anonymous online attacker makes bold claims—especially calling someone an "adulterer"—they better have their facts straight. In this case, he does not. In fact, he gets it completely wrong, both Biblically and historically.

Let’s clear this up once and for all.

Anna Zamoranos-Schwab was married twice before her covenant marriage to Timothy Jay Schwab. Those prior marriages ended in legal divorce due to infidelity committed against her—a fact fully documented and known before Tim and Anna were ever engaged, and vetted by the church where they served in the ministry before conducting a ceremony. Think on that. This blogger believes himself, with no accurate details and no credentials even missing a name, above a group of pastors who approved this Biblical and Legal union. Imagine the gall. Tim's story is very similar, even staying in the marriage trying to repair it for years.

In Biblical terms, this is exactly what Yahusha addresses in Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9.
The caveat is extremely clear:

“Except it be for fornication.”
– Yahusha Ha’Mashiah

That is not condemnation. That is compassion and covenantal restoration. Yahusha affirms the Torah as given by Moses in Deuteronomy 24, allowing for divorce and remarriage in the case of unfaithfulness.

Tim and Anna’s marriage is not only Biblically lawful—it is blessed, joyful, and an example of how Yahuah restores lives. They have both endured trials, remained faithful, and now serve together in ministry with unwavering integrity, and it is not in a missionary capacity. They do so not in shame, but in freedom and truth. As Tim often says: "Yahuah uses broken people."

📜 What the Bible Actually Teaches About Divorce and Remarriage

The topic of divorce has often been mishandled—not just by critics, but sometimes even by churches, theologians, and bloggers who cherry-pick verses without understanding their Torah context or Messiah's intent.

Let’s walk through this properly and Biblically:

📖 1. The Law of Moses – Divorce Is Not Ideal, but Permitted for Infidelity

Deuteronomy 24:1-2 (KJV)
"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife."

✅ Moses permits remarriage after a legal divorce, especially in the case of "uncleanness" (which Hebrew scholars widely agree refers to sexual sin such as adultery or fornication).

📖 2. Yahusha’s Words – Affirming Moses, Not Overriding

Matthew 5:32 (KJV)
"But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery."
Matthew 19:9 (KJV)
"And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery..."

✴️ Yahusha explicitly affirms that adultery or fornication is a legitimate cause for divorce.
He is not introducing a new law, but reinforcing the intent of Moses’ Torah—clarifying it against Pharisaic abuse and misuse of divorce for “any reason” (Matthew 19:3).

📖 3. Messiah Defends the Integrity of the Torah

Luke 16:17-18 (KJV)
"And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery..."

Here again, context matters. Yahusha just said that not even one letter of Torah will pass away. He is not abolishing Moses’ law—He is calling people back to its righteous use, not its perversion. Think about. That was the very message John the Baptist was called to preach, a return to the law as lawlessness is the definition of sin (1 John 3:4). A church teaching there is no law is teaching lawlessness. John the Beloved said that is the definition of sin.

Conclusion: Torah + Messiah = Clarity, Not Confusion

From Deuteronomy to the Gospels, we see the same truth:

  • Divorce is a tragedy, not a command.

  • In cases of sexual unfaithfulness, it is permitted.

  • Remarriage is allowed after a valid, biblically grounded divorce.

  • Yahusha never undid the Torah—He upheld it.

💡 Those who say otherwise are not reading the whole Bible.

🛡️ The Truth About Tim and Anna – A Biblically Grounded Union

Let us now address the reckless accusation made by the anonymous blogger, who publicly labeled Tim and Anna adulterers without knowing the facts—and worse, without any regard for the biblical standards of judgment, truth, or love.

Tim and Anna’s Marriage Is Biblically Valid

  • Anna was divorced due to infidelity—a matter well-documented and confirmed by experts in Biblical unions. This blogger is not.

  • Tim did not break up any marriage, nor did Anna.

  • Their marriage came after a lawful, biblically justified divorce under the condition Yahusha and Moses both affirmed—fornication/adultery.

  • Thus, they were free to marry in the eyes of Torah and Messiah. And it is a good thing they did.

📖 Deuteronomy 24:2 – “...she may go and be another man’s wife.”
📖 Matthew 19:9 – “...except it be for fornication...”
📖 Luke 16:17 – “...not one tittle of the law shall fail.”

If these verses hold true—and they do—then Tim and Anna’s marriage is righteous, and anyone declaring otherwise is bearing false witness and violating Torah themselves.

⚖️ False Accusations = Sin

Exodus 20:16
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”
Proverbs 6:16-19
"…A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."

This blogger is not acting in correction or truth—but in slander, malice, and willful distortion. Scripture doesn’t defend such behavior—it condemns it.

❤️ For Those Who’ve Faced Divorce: There Is Healing and Restoration

Divorce is a deeply painful experience. It’s not something anyone desires. But the Bible does not shame those who’ve suffered adultery and sought healing through a new beginning.
In fact, the Torah makes space for that healing.

👉 To weaponize Scripture in order to shame the innocent—or worse, misquote it entirely to slander the righteous—is not just unbiblical. It is evil.

📣 Final Word

Accusing Tim and Anna of adultery, especially in writing, publicly, and with no evidence, is not a theological statement.
It’s a personal attack, it’s legally libelous, and above all, it is a lie.

Those who claim to care about biblical truth should start by reading the whole Word, not lifting verses out of context and twisting them to hurt people.

We stand behind Tim and Anna as a biblically married couple, and we reject every accusation as false, hateful, and unbiblical.

🧾 "Says the Man Who Did This": Deception on Display

In his crusade of false accusations, the anonymous blogger wrote:

“If he did not teach that abominable, graceless, Christless doctrine then I would never have brought up his adulterous marriage, his beardless face, or his fat gut.”

That is a direct quote—hateful, childish, and wholly devoid of any Biblical spirit. But beyond the mockery lies something far more revealing: a calculated campaign of deception.

This same individual posted defamatory “reviews” of Rest: The Case for Sabbath and Garden of Eden Revealed on Amazon—under two different usernames—each claiming to be separate people. The reviews:

  • Featured identical language,

  • Linked to his personal blog,

  • And included a yellow post-it note slapped on the cover image...

...with the same initials written on both. Oops.

He impersonated two reviewers, but forgot to change the handwriting.

This isn’t critique—it’s impersonation, deception, and identity fraud. That’s illegal on Amazon. And more importantly, it’s condemned in Scripture:

Proverbs 19:5 – “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.”

Let’s present the facts:

📷 Documented Identity Fraud: Two Amazon Accounts, One Blogger

This same individual posted defamatory “reviews” on Amazon for Rest: The Case for Sabbath and Garden of Eden Revealed, among others—under two different aliases and one of them on multiple books.

🟧 Under both accounts, he:

  • Posted identical language with a yellow post-it note on the book covers.

  • Linked to his own blog.

  • Repeated the same accusations using different usernames.

  • Pretended to be separate individuals.

💥 This is not honest criticism.
This is coordinated deception and identity fraud, which violates:

  • Amazon’s Terms of Service (which prohibit duplicate reviews and fake personas).

  • Intellectual property and copyright law (using images and titles deceptively).

  • Biblical law (bearing false witness).

We have screenshots of both usernames, their review dates, language, and evidence linking them to the same blog—even tagging Tim and Anna by name.

The below photos appearing on Amazon Reviews for years with dated screenshots have been submitted to NBI Cybercrime for their evaluation along with over 60 pages of documented potential illegal acts. Both these fake names were already linked together by negligently placing the same post-it under both usernames demonstrating what appears identity fraud.
It is not difficult to ascertain NBI's initial response.

Note to AMAZON: If these are not removed, you will be pursued as an accomplice to this crime. Thus far, Amazon has proven it does not care about responsibly enforcing its own Community Standards, nor the law, but it will soon.

David Roxas

Identity #1

This one was removed within 1 hour of our reporting it to Amazon demonstrating this blogger has someone inside who informed him as Amazon did not remove it we are told. We have cropped both of these to fit the space, but NBI has the originals with time stamp. Note the post-it has Michael Garcia's initials by accident. Also, bad reviews are impertinent as we get very few on anything we have published.

Michael Garcia

Identity #2

Imagine teaching a thorough study on the Biblical Sabbath, 432 pages pouring with research detail, and being undermined from Reviews tainting one's person in defamation and assault, when people are trying to learn about the Bible. This is as odious as an action can be, and it will end soon. Indeed, there is a bold lie in the title and throughout both of these erroneous fabrications also impersonating book reviews. They are not.

✝️ Is This Biblical? Let’s Ask the Word

Proverbs 11:1 – “A false balance is abomination to the Lord…”
Proverbs 12:22 – “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord…”
Leviticus 19:11 – “Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.”
Exodus 23:1 – “Thou shalt not raise a false report…”

When you impersonate others, post fake reviews, and accuse fellow believers publicly of crimes and sins without evidence—you’re not defending theology. You’re violating every principle of it.

🛑 Even If the Accusation Were True…

Let us be clear: Tim and Anna are NOT adulterers.

But even if they were (and again—they are not), is impersonating multiple Amazon reviewers, publicly shaming someone across platforms, and dragging personal history into book reviews about the Sabbath biblical? Is it legal?

🛑 No.

And you don't need to be a theologian—or a judge—to know that.

⚖️ Legalism as a Weapon

...the difference between a teacher and a bully.
The God Culture is not legalistic, but accused as such by an extreme legalist by his own behavior. Hypocrisy! A continued double standard by an imposter whose only interest is to defame and defile.

🔍 Summary: Deception Is Not Discernment

Let’s be very clear: This blogger’s attacks are not rooted in Biblical truth, but in personal bitterness, deception, and unlawful behavior. From mocking appearances and twisting Scripture, to impersonating reviewers and slandering others under false names, his actions reveal far more about his character than the ones he accuses.

Even if his interpretation of divorce were correct (and it isn't), his method of accusation—anonymous, defamatory, and fraudulent—is entirely unbiblical. No matter how many books he defaces with sticky notes, you cannot bear false witness in the name of discernment. That is a sin, and according to both scripture and law, it is criminal.

🕊️ A Call to Repentance: Mercy Is Still Available

Addendum Note: April 27, 2025

To their credit, after more than 30 complaints in 3+ years, 2 Intent To Sue's, 2 Escalations Beyond Intent To Sue's, and Reporting to NBI, FBI, and FTC, Amazon did finally remove the post-it reviews screaming "Adulterer" illegally. Moving forward, they have provided a direct contact who will address any attempts by this blogger even under different usernames in identity fraud, as he already committed. Additionally, the election season in the Philippines will be winding down soon and NBI Cybercrime will begin making this a priority as well. That includes the Wikipedia article as well in, which the blogger is likely involved, or his group. This demonic behavior will be dealt with, and we encourage everyone to pray regarding this. Oh yeah... our offer for mercy was shunned as expected and daily attacks now persist. We will stand through this stronger and he will likely be in jail when all is said and done.
